• Could this be throat cancer?

About a month and a half ago i was diagnosed with h pylori. I took 2 weeks of antibiotics. At the end of the antibiotics i started feeling a knot in my throat. It didn't hurt. Then i started feeling nauseous in the mornings. This knot feeling in my throat has persisted for a month and more recently i started feeling like i had chest congestion with hoarseness but couldn't cough up phlegm. Now in the past 2 days it has turned from a dry cough to a wet cough where i can finally cough up phlegm. I now have a sore throat for almost 4 days, headache, i had chills yesterday and feel like i want to cough. Could this be just a flu or cold that was slowly taking hold? Or is the knot feeling and nausea a sign of throat cancer? I've been negative for Covid but haven't tested since the cough turned wet. The nausea every day has me worried.

  • El Centro, CA

Unfortunately questions such as yours require a face-to-face visit to answer. There is no substitute for that. That said, most patient encounters for throat symptoms do NOT result in a diagnosis of cancer. Make an appointment with an ENT physician.
