• Covid vaccine - took Tylenol prior?

I took Tylenol prior to my first covid vaccine (dose 1). I later found out this isn’t advised and could reduce the efficacy of the vaccine. What should I do if I am not as protected? I receive my second dose tomorrow.

I disagree with the notion that Tylenol taken prior to the 1st COVID-19 vaccination renders the vaccination less effective. There is no scientific basis for this. You should not be concerned.

I know of no evidence to support that claim about tylenol. I would do nothing different, get your second dose and you should be fine. If you are concerned you can have antibody levels checked 2 weeks after your second dose to make sure responded to the vaccine. I have checked this on a number of pts as well as myself and parents and it is reassuring to see that you have had an antibody response.

It has only a mild effect and will not seriously impair your immune response. Do not take anything prior to the second vaccine dose and all will be fine.

Don’t worry about it. Minimal impact

I would still take the second dose and avoid taking pain relievers before. It is okay to take them afterwards.

Should not be a problem most of the fat would be with an anti-inflammatory such as Motrin not Tylenol since it has no anti-inflammatory effect known case. Should do fine with your second those boosting your amenities. You can take Motrin about 4 to 6 hours after your inoculation. Good luck

Thanks for the question. Do not worry. The second dose increases efficacy about ten-fold.
