• Crinkling noise in my left ear, what could it be?

There is a crinkling noise in my left ear when I puff my cheeks or put earbuds in. I can also hear it when I push inward under my ear. This has been happening for as long as I can remember but I always forget to ask my doctor about it. What could it be?

It could be a little bit of sticky wax making a smacking sound in the flexible portion of your ear canal.

You may be moving air thru the eustachian tube causing the tympanic membrane to move. Wax in the ear canal will do the same

Probable intermittent eustachian tube dysfunction. Sound harmless in your case. Concern if loss of hearing, pain

It could be easy as a hair touching the eardrum or maybe something more complex like Eustachian tube problems. See a local ENT specialist.
