• Cyst removal?

I have had several cysts removed. I have one between my neck and shoulder that needs removing. The problem is the injections I am given do not numb me and the past removals have been painful. For that reason, I have been putting this removal off. I don't know if doctors don't believe me when I say I don't numb but I don't. Do you have any suggestions for removal that I can talk to my (new) doctor about?

There are people who are resistant to Lidocaine. Try using Bupivocaine

There are lots of different “injections” / medications that we can use for anesthesia (numbing). I would ask which ones you have had before - consider a different one. Also just let them know to give it time to wait. Usually takes about 15 minutes to fully set. Also, don’t get a removal when it’s red and inflamed. It is an acidic environment and therefore the anesthesia does not work well. In my experience, many patients demand to have a cyst removed while it is red and inflamed - not a good time.
