I am a 45 year old female. I want to know if a blood clot requires hospitalization?

Not necessarily, but this will require swift and formal evaluation by a physician as most deep vein thromboses will require at least 3 months of blood thinners.
Depending on the site of the clot, which organ is involved, your physician will treat you and advise you. At times, need hospitalization and intravenous medication.
