No stents do not shorten your life. But if you have a heart stent, you need to see your cardiologist on a regular basis to make sure that the stents don’t clog.

Depends on wear the stent is for. Heart, peripheral vascular but overall the answer is No. stents do not shorten your life and may help you avoid a major vascular operation or heart surgery.

Stent May prolong your life. There are several ways of revascularisation ( replumbing) of the heart. Surgery with arterial grafts provides you with longest durability while stent has least amount of complications
