No it does not hurt when performed by experienced vascular surgeons.

Thank you for asking me. Laser treatment of varicose veins when used for ablation of incompetent veins doesn't hurt provided that appropriate local anesthesia is administered and a sedative can also be given if necessary. Different is the use of surface laser for treatment of spider veins, a procedure that can be performed using cooling technology and which then causes minimal or no discomfort during the procedure.
