• Got the Covid vaccine too soon?

I had a positive Covid test 2-8, but since my state is lifting the mask mandate, I got the vaccine 4-13. I had chills all that night & the next day. My chest hurts and a lot more when I cough. I am spewing phlem. I am really tired and had scheduled a Covid test for today (canceled it) with the chills and being tired, but I don’t think I have it again.

Unable to predict what you have. Get the Covid nose PCR test tomorrow without fail and quarantine until results are back. It could be repeat Covid with a variant, a different infection orca vaccine effect, BUT vaccine does not cause symptoms that mimic an infection. Vaccine was early, but not too early.

Thanks for the question. We generally ask you to wait 90 days after a covid infection to receive the vaccine. Your respiratory symptoms should be investigated by your doctor. There is no guidance scientifically about what to do further about too early a vaccine, or if it can induce respiratory symptoms if given too early. It would be worth a direct inquiry to Pfizer or Moderna. I have made an inquiry, and no one is willing to speculate about this question, as there is no data.
