• Health issue?

I've been having trouble swallowing lately (food, regular painkillers, even fluid)?

Suggest that you make an appointment with an otolaryngologist (ENT) soon. He/She can do in-office endoscopy and request a modified barium swallow procedure.

A persistent difficulty with swallowing food should definitely be evaluated. See an ENT doctor to start. A swallow study, and possibly a gastroenterology evaluation may also be required.
