I have gastritis. How do you relieve gastritis pain?
This one is tricky with no simple answer. Most gastritis is chronic and does not cause pain. Acute gastritis, e.g. from getting an acute H pylori infection, will cause pain, but usually, the pain goes away once the infection has settled in. So whenever a patient comes to see me for pain and they were told it was gastritis, the pain is usually from something else, such as dyspepsia. A good GI doctor should be able to go beyond the lazy answer of "gastritis" to find out what the real cause is.
