My daughter has seasonal allergies. How do you treat seasonal allergies in children?
If you have identified the season or seasons in which she suffers you should start her on a nasal steroid spray every night 7 to 10 days before her symptoms typically start. This will decrease nasal and eye symptoms. In my area trees bloom end of February and beginning of March. For spring allergy sufferers I recommend they start their nasal spray on Valentines Day each year and continue through memorial day. Ragweed starts in late July so for fall allergy sufferers I ask them to start their nasal spray on July 4 and continue through the first frost.
