If a multimodal peri operative pain control is employed with TAP block usually patient is discharged home next day with non narcotic pain medications
I typically prescribe pain medication for 5 days after surgery and rarely have to refill it after that. Many patients do not need to take it for that long.
You need to ask a bariatric surgeon.
Please make sure you see a PCP for chest pain. Most Surgery can take up to 6 months.
