• How long does the dental implant process take?

I'm thinking about getting dental implants. How long does the process take?

It depends on the bone quality and where the implant is going. if the bone quality is good, an implant placed today can be finished in 3 months. If a bone graft is required it takes longer

First the tooth is extracted and bone grafted, if indicated. 2months later, the implant is placed. 2 months after that, it can be restored. If no tooth is present, the bone graft is often placed and that takes 2 months. Next , you see the restorative dentist who takes an impression and it takes 2 weeks for the crown. So about 5 months.

Once an implant is placed, the time before the restoration ( the top visible part, ie, the crown) is often three months; however, in some cases it can be as short as six weeks.
If the tooth exists and needs to be extracted, the time can be anywhere from three to six months until the final restoration, depending on many factors.
Frequently, teeth are removed, and the site is grafted. The bone graft takes three months to solidify, and then the implant is placed. This allows for the most predictable healing.
In some cases, the implant can be placed at the same time as the tooth is removed; however, there are more potential problems with this approach, including implants not being placed in the ideal angulation or position, long-term gum problems around the implant, and/or implants exposed to the oral environment.

A very good question;
1- Time to get an appt and consultation- within 1 week
2- Time to do a placement- 30 mins to a few hours depending on the condition
3- Time to get the teeth- 1 -2 days or up to 2-3 months -depending on the case type
Summary- Cases differ- singles or a full arch. Time differs as well
