Bones heal well based on a few concepts. If you have a maxillary fracture and the fracture is simple and favorable( meaning when you move it doesn’t pull apart) the bones can heal completely in around 4 months. You can get an initial Band aid type of healing in the first few weeks and children heal way faster than adults.

Bone healing is, to a certain degree, age dependent. Maxillary bone healing would be 4-5 weeks in a teenager, 5-6 weeks in a young adult, 6-8 weeks in a middle age adult, and 8-10 weeks in an older adult, roughly.

In general bone heals in 8 weeks but there are lots of variables. Reach out to your surgeon with this question.
