• How long will it take for me to recover from a hand surgery?

I am due for a wrist surgery (because of an injury) next week. It is my first surgery ever and I am very worried. How long will it take for me to recover from my hand surgery? I work primarily at a computer, so I understand that I won't be able to do this for a while. But how long is recovery time usually?

One-handed duty is always an option asap. How quickly you recover is determined by what is needed, wrist surgery can be very simple to vert complex.

Can't really answer this question without more information on what type of wrist surgery you are having. Could be anywhere from 1 week (DeQuervain's release) to 3 months (Severe ligament injury requiring pinning & casting).

Recovery time can be a matter of a couple of weeks or many months, depending.
