Since I have two autoimmune diseases, one caused by an overactive immune system, would it be safe for me to get the COVID-19 vaccine? I am 74 years old, my only medication is Synthroid to treat a sluggish thyroid. I had a terrible reaction to the one and only flu shot I had, I became extremely ill, high fever, chest congestion, cough for three weeks, and the doctor had to give me antibiotics to counteract the vaccine.

You should get the covid vaccine but you may have a strong reaction to it,
