I don't know how severe your knee problem is. I suggest you seek a good provider of acupuncture who can treat you with acupuncture, massage, and probably herbs to relieve your knee pain.

We will exam 1st. Then provide dry needling 1st. Patients will find instant results in general.
Depending on patients’ medical histories and conditions, each patient will have different responses. Patients will have to follow up in 3-7days depending on severity.
Patients will be examined again on how much difference they have experienced since the initial acupuncture treatment.
Then we can give patients a plan for symptomatology.
If we find limitations in improvements, we will apply different plans as a holistic approach.

Acupressure can be useful to help reduce and cope with any pain in the body. Acupuncture is usually more effective and quicker at addressing body pain than acupressure.

Knee pain caused by osteoarthritis or injury can have a negative impact on quality of life, reducing mobility and even getting in the way of a good night’s sleep. Acupuncture can help provide much-needed relief for those with knee pain.

I have and continue to treat knee pain with acupuncture. It is very beneficial for relieving my patients’ knee pain. For a family friend, I didn’t have needles on me at the time so I used acupressure. Initially, after the treatment it didn’t seem to make a difference, she still had knee pain. But months later she told me her chronic knee pain went away within the month from me doing the acupressure.
Acupressure is like the massage technique of acupuncture, so it will still, help but may take a longer treatment time than the 15 minutes of acupuncture. Check with your primary to see if alternative medicine would be good for your knee pain.

Acupuncture can be great for knee pain! Acupuncture can calm down inflammation in the knee, but it can improve healing and prevent injuries from coming back.

Absolutely!

When I hear someone ask me about acupressure, I imagine they are talking about someone who has read a book on acupressure performing some point pushing without full knowledge of Chinese medicine. This has little to do with Chinese medicine... If instead, my presumptions are wrong, then this being performed by a FULLY TRAINED practitioner of Chinese medicine, then yes, it is likely to help you. But you have given me next to nothing to work with here with your extremely vague question.

Yes, acupressure is good for knee pain but Acupuncture is better because it can get directly into the knee joint for deeper relief.

It can be. If you find that pressure aggravates your pain however, I don't recommend using acupressure. Instead, you should visit your acupuncturist for treatment and guidance for home treatments.

I couldn't say whether or not acupressure is good for knee pain - I almost never use pressure techniques. The reason I don't use them is because in terms of patient comfort, time to pain relief, and duration of pain relief acupressure is a distant second to acupuncture (using needles).

Unless the patient is one of those rare people who pass out when any needle breaks the skin, acupuncture is going to work better, faster, be more comfortable and the results will persist longer.
