Not usually and can be easily corrected in your glasses or contacts

Astigmatism references eye shape as it relates to a prescription (for either glasses or contact lenses). The amount of astigmatism a patient has varies from patient to patient. While the number can sometimes be high, astigmatism usually isn't serious.

If it's regular astigmatism, probably not. That's just a normal refractive error. Irregular stigmatism can be a sign of a more serious medical condition. Steven Vale, M. D.
