There have been 2 cases of dengue fever diagnosed in my community. Is it contagious? How is it treated?

Dengue is transmitted by Mosquitoes. If there are mosquitoes in your area they can pass the disease between humans
NO. Dengue is spread by the bite of an infected insect. But it may not present (or become symptomatic) until a patient comes into the USA from an endemic area, like AFRICA.
