I got my braces 3 days ago. My teeth hurt. Is it normal to have tooth pain with braces?

There can be some 'discomfort' with orthodontic appliances as forces applied to move the teeth can be associated with some discomfort. Over the counter analgesics can help.

It is normal. You will experience this kind of discomfort every time you get the braces adjusted. Typically once a month. Taking some pain killers (whatever you would take for a head ache) before your appointment should help!

Hi, Thats very normal. Expect to have some discomfort every time they adjust/tighten the wires if its super painful or you notice swelling, you need to see a dentist for a check or call the orthodontist youre working with. Most of the patients I see in braces/clear aligners are sore. You are moving teeth through bone essentially, which causes some inflammation around the roots (some pain/discomfort).
