It is not effective for end of life care.

Of course. Where there is life there is hope. Please do not allow the word hospice to feel it’s over. It is not. Do everything you can to comfort and love the person to have all hope and love on ongoing care. Continue always With much love and encouragement for you to continue.

Yes, physical therapy can help the patient feel more comfortable.
Providing;
1. range of motion
2. gentle massage
3. Repositioning
4. family education in the above
The goal of Physical Therapy in hospice is not the same as in Rehabilitation.

Physical therapy can be beneficial in some cases, not in others. I suggest your friend ask his doctor about his getting physical therapy, what would be available for him and helpful for him, and what benefit or help he would like or expect from Physical Therapy. He could also request an evaluation by a physical therapist and/or his physician.
