Depending on the type of cancer it is commonly used to prevent recurrent cancer. This is better directed to a radiation oncologist.

It is required for all breast cancers, even in the scenario of negative margins of the resected specimen. With radical mastectomy, it may or may not be necessary. Hope this helps.

I have not heard of the term mudinous. It would probably be best to consult with your radiation therapist as to whether additional radiation therapy might be indicated.
