Yes, while panic disorder is under the umbrella of anxiety disorders, there are clinical differences between panic disorder and generalized anxiety. Generalized anxiety is more of a pervasive sense of worry or nervousness or anticipation of a negative outcome, whereas panic disorder is typically more acute and intense, with each episode of panic attack having a more distinct start and end time, while anxietys start and end time is much harder to pinpoint, especially for people who arent accustomed to observing and tracking their feelings, thoughts, and physiological sensations. We can learn all of these in therapy with a psychologist who specializes in anxiety disorders. Yes, there is a difference. You can have anxiety without panic, though likely not the latter without the former. The treatment of the two conditions also varies. It's best to consult with a psychiatrist and/or a psychologist for this. There are many helpful therapies for it.
