• Is there a remedy for red eyes?

I continuously have bloodshot eyes.I'm definitely not sure why, since I do not drink or stay up late. What is the cause for this? Is there any home remedy for it?

The most common cause of red eyes is dryness. While there are many common causes of redness, chronic redness is most often associated with a lack of lubrication of the ocular surface. I recommend high quality artificial tears to all of my patients, typically multiple times daily. This would be the best place to start. If the problem persists, I would recommend an examination with your local eye care professional.

Hi,

The cause of the redness has to be established. There are medications which can diminishe the redness. That is only temporary and often causes reflex dryness.

This might be allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis, or dry eye syndrome. See an ophthalmologist to find out what is causing it and get appropriate treatment.
