• Is this just all in my head or growing pains or is it something more?

I have aching pains in my joints specifically my fingers, wrists, knees, shoulders, and hips. I have stabbing pain or numbness in my hands sometimes it feels like I'm wearing a glove. I have a constant mild headache. I have chest pain sometimes it feels like my chest is going to just collapse it feels like there is pressure on it. My arms and hands and legs sometimes feel very weak and it takes a lot of effort to move them. My joints sometimes don't feel like they are quite sitting right in their sockets I can move them when that happens but it's quite painful. I often feel faint when I stand up or stand for a period of time, my vision will go out ill get dizzy, and sometimes start to fall. my skin on my hands sometimes tears for no reason like I will get cuts on my hands when they aren't dry just by moving them. I have hypermobility in a few joints I have a Beighton Score of 6. My skin is pale and the veins around my eyes are very visible I can also see all the joints in my hands clearly under the skin. Is this all normal or just in my head/growing pains? It's been getting worse and worse for around a year no one takes me seriously because I push through it all and pretend I'm fine. I've half convinced myself that this is normal but I'm not sure.

I dont think its in your head. You should not be experiencing that much pain at your age. You need to explain all this to your primary doctor. He can order some tests to hopefully figure out what is going on. Sent from my TMobile 4G LTE device Original messageFrom Patient Question Date Fri, Jun 20, 2025 716 PMTo tolb12charter.netCc SubjectYou Have a New Question Is this just all in my head or growing pains or is it something ... .ReadMsgBody width 100outlook a padding0.ExternalClass width 100divyahoowidth 100 margin0 padding0 webkittextsizeadjust100 mstextsizeadjust100html width 100 table bordercollapse collapseaxappledatadetectors color inherit !importanttextdecoration none !importantfontsize inherit !importantfontfamily inherit !importantfontweight inherit !importantlineheight inherit !important media only screen and maxwidth 599px ahreftel, ahrefsms textdecorationnonepointereventsnonecursor default .mobilelink ahreftel, .mobilelink ahrefsms textdecorationdefaultpointerevents autocursor default axappledatadetectors color inherit !importanttextdecoration none !importantfontsize inherit !importantfontfamily inherit !importantfontweight inherit !importantlineheight inherit !important divyahoo .deviceWidth width100!important divyahoo .deviceWidths width92!important divyahoo .deviceWidthleadtop paddingtop20px!importantpaddingbottom20px!important divyahoo tableclassdevicewidth width 100!importanttextaligncenter!important divyahoo tdclassdevicewidth width 100!importanttextaligncenter!important divyahoo tableclassfullwidthwidth100!important borderleftnone!important divyahoo tdclassfullwidthwidth100!important float left divyahoo imgclassfullwidthwidth100!important divyahoo tdclassaligncenterwidth100!important textaligncenter!important divyahoo tableclassaligncenterwidth100!important textaligncenter!important divyahoo .center textalign center!important media only screen and maxwidth 479px ahreftel, ahrefsms textdecorationnonepointereventsnonecursordefault .mobilelink ahreftel, .mobilelink ahrefsms textdecoration defaultcolor ffffff !importantpointerevents autocursor default divyahoo .deviceWidth width100!important divyahoo .deviceWidths width86!important divyahoo .deviceWidthlogo width100!important divyahoo .deviceWidthleadtop paddingtop30px!importantpaddingbottom30px!important divyahoo tableclassdevicewidth width 100!importanttextaligncenter!important divyahoo tdclassdevicewidth width 100!importanttextaligncenter!important divyahoo tableclassfullwidthwidth100!important borderleftnone!important divyahoo tdclassfullwidthwidth100!important float left divyahoo imgclassfullwidthwidth100!important divyahoo tdclassaligncenterwidth100!important textaligncenter!important divyahoo tableclassaligncenterwidth100!important textaligncenter!important divyahoo .center textaligncenter!important You have a new patient question! I think given your age and the symptoms you have I would start by having an appointment with your primary doctor, you may need some referrals to see a specialist and some blood tests. I would ask your parents to make you an appointment to discuss the symptoms you are having, and if you ever faint, pass out, black out, or have sudden severe pain anywhere I would tell your parents or an adult right away and get to the emergency room as soon as you can. Hope you feel better.

I do not know the extent of your evaluation, but I would suggest a Pediatric Rheumatology consult

  • Optometrist
  • Lafayette, LA

Get checked for Shojgrens syndrome

  • Ophthalmologist
  • Seattle, WA

There are many options here including a condition termed polymyositis and a bunch of food deficiency diseases. You need to bring this to the attention of your parents who can get you into the family doctor for evaluation. Don't wait until it gets more severe or causes permanent damage.
