Can an ultrasound of a chin lump show whether it has cancer or not? I have a 1.6cm lump under my chin for 6 years now i did an ultrasound 1 year after i boticed ut and it showed reactive lymph node but it us still present 6 years later. It first apoeared as 2 lumos one hard one and another soft pne .The hard lump disapoeared after 2 weeks but the soft 1.6 moveable one stayed. What could be going on? And also does you cbc results show any signs of cancer?

Ultrasound just confirms if this cyst or solid lump and if there are any other similar lumps around Best is first see an ENT for more specific diagnosis

An ultrasound cannot make the diagnosis of a cancer but it can be of benefit in making the diagnosis, A lump under the chin could be a lymph node but I would also consider a salivary gland mass,The most common CBC related cancer would probably be a lymphoma but a CBC is also essential in making many diagnosis. I would suggest a biopsy of the lesion.

Ultrasounds do not diagnose malignancy. You will need a fine needle biopsy and pending the results you may need an excisional biopsy
