I have a 4 month old baby. She has not passed stools for the last 4 days and I am extremely worried. What should I do to help her?

Is she still eating ok? If so you can usually wait a little longer and just give prune juice 2 oz orally. If she is straining and not feeding well get babylax supp and place in rectum and they will usually go immediately If not she will need to be checked

Try Vaseline on a rectal thermometer and gently twist it in the rectum about one inch in. If that does not work try a glycerine suppository. Also give the baby 3-4 ounces of water to help.

Get infant glycerin suppository and use as directed; read the package information.

As long as the baby appears comfortable and is eating normally, 4 days is OK. If it goes to 5 days, you should have your doctor examine her just to make sure.

Prune juice or pear juice 2-4 oz, once a day. Abdominal massages and leg bicycling. Don't water down juice.

Give lots of warm liquids and eat a high fiber diet, and if possible, stimulate the anal area. Try these things before you use a suppository.

I would see your pediatrician for that
