• Opiate use-legal?

I’m looking for a doctor to help with long-term opiate use stemming from domestic violence. They so easily prescribe codeine/w Tylenol I’m getting really scared. As with most people the withdrawal is the worst. Even as I have cut back I’m afraid the damage has been done. It’s been 20 years now. Is anesthesia-induced detox at an alleged hospital in California?

You need to see a doctor to determine if you have a full blown use disorder (it sounds like you do). If you want to avoid the detox and don't mind being on long term medication, then I would guess from the little you have written, that you may do well on Suboxone. It can treat the withdrawal and also prevent you from using opioids on top of it (it will block the effects). Find an addiction doc, or psychiatrist, that can prescribe Suboxone.

You certainly need a comprehensive medical evaluation. I do not prescribe opiates, so I cannot comment on whether this would be helpful to you.
