Usually Parkinsons can be diagnosed by a neurologist from the neurologic exam. The MRI is to be sure there is nothing else going on that can be confused with Parkinsons. Your neurologist is being thorough. MRI OK.

Parkinson's so far is a clinical diagnosis and MRI usually doesn't help making the diagnosis.

PD "Parkinson's disease is a clinical diagnosis, but it often is seen on MRI as the SN "Substantia Nigra" loses its pigments and the midbrain becomes disfigured.

Parkinson’s disease does not get diagnosed from a brain MRI. It is a clinical diagnosis. You definitely need to be seen by a neurologist for further evaluation. There are other tests that can be performed which might help in diagnosing Parkinson’s disease.
