• Peptic ulcer?

I have a stomach ulcer currently being treated with Omeprazole. My dentist prescribed hydrocodone for my root canal...is it safe to take the hydrocodone?

I have not prescribed any opioids/narcotics in years. If your dentist prescribed it, I cannot comment or contradict his judgement as I have no health history on you nor have I ever examined you. If you lack confidence, see an endodontist for evaluation, 2nd opinion and treatment. Good Luck.

The pain medication can irritate the stomach lining even in healthy stomachs, so be sure not to take the medication on an empty stomach.

Yes it should be safe, but check with the pharmacist to be sure.

There is an interaction. Motrin and Tylenol would be better.

Yes. Hydrocodone is safe. If you have an ulcer, you want to avoid anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, etc.

Take it only if you need it. Try Tylenol extra strength first.
