• Pounding heart?

I have been diagnosed with Tachycardia, I was taking propranolol, but I stopped taking it because it caused me purpura. Today I woke up with a pounding heart, shortness of breath, I almost fainted, and it felt I was shaking from the inside. Should I start taking propranolol again?

See your Dr. asap. There are other meds.

Ask your doctor about another type of medicine in the same class. Let them know you stopped your med and why.

I would recommend starting the propranolol again and getting in to see your doctor regarding changing beta blocker agents to one that doesn't cause you the purpura. You clearly have significant sinus tachycardia that needs treatment.

I would recommend that you consult your doctor. There are other beta blockers that are more specific for the heart that may not cause side effects for you. Trying a different beta blocker might help

You should definitely take your propranolol. If it’s causing side effects please consult your physician to switch you to other medications that have the same benefit of slowing down your heart rate.
