• Right wrist pain (excruciating when bending it a certain direction/angle)?

Whenever I bend my right wrist (I’m right-handed) to wipe after defecating, I experience excruciating pain. (The pain occurs during other random activities throughout the day, but it’s always related to bending it at the same angle as when I wipe.) This has been going on for about three months and is getting worse, both in terms of frequency and severity of pain. I’ll mention that my right elbow generally feels somewhat stiff and sore (it’s been feeling this way for about the same 3-month period.), and it kind of feels that there’s some connection between this issue and my wrist pain (though this may not actually be the case.) Thanks for your help!

I am not sure what chronic FND stands for. But, by your description, it sounds like you may have a serious problem. You should have it evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine specialist, or a physical medicine specialist or rheumatologist. X-rays and possible MRI may be necessary. They can look at your elbow at the same time as well.

It could be carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritic wrist joints. See if topical ibuprofen, like voltarin gel helps. If so it’s arthritis and just continue to use the gel. If no change try a wrist flexion splint.

It sounds to me like you have a tendonitis either in your wrist or elbow. Try taking advil, 3 tablets with each meal. Also, avoid whatever motion causes pain. If not better after a week or so, see an orthopedic specialist.

Hope it helps!!
