Age, hypertension, diabetes, and side affects of medications all together is why you have tinnitus. There is no cure from this. Tinnitus is more in quite surrounding. So try to have some outside noise especially in bedroom

Tinnitus can be caused by several things but most common is caused by noise induced high frequency hearing loss. As far as treatment is concerned first it is important that you do not have a wax impaction of the ear canal as this can be a cause of hearing loss. An audiometric exam can best determine your type of hearing loss. If your understandingi is good a hearing aid may be of some benefit. Some medicine may contribute to your tinnitus so a drug review is important. Some people benefit from the use of a masker. A good ENT history and exam is the best first step.

The great majority of patients with tinnitus have it because of damage to the high-frequency hair cells in the inner ear(s). Occasionally patients with tinnitus are found to have wax pressing against the eardrum(s), and/or fluid within the middle ear(s), both of which are treatable conditions. There is no known routinely effective treatment for tinnitus coming from the inner ear, usually caused by noise exposure. However, there are plenty of "caretakers" who pretend to have effective treatments maskers, drops, pills, physical therapy, whatever... !

Hello,
Recommend consulting an ENT specialist for a comprehensive audiogram and an otoscopic exam prior to recommending treatment options.

In short, yes.
There are numerous treatments for tinnitus.
Please see an experience ENT or audiologist who deals with this. Many of them see this condition but don't truly treat it. Call ahead or look online for tinnitus treatment centers.

A thorough work-up is warranted prior to ANY proposed treatment.

Also, do NOT waste your money on over the counter herbs/pills/supplements.

No medications can. We use hearing aids and tinnitus migrating devices for this purpose. Get an audiogram at a hearing facility and speak to them about a trial use of theses devices.

Yes of course, first thing have your hearing checked by an Audiologist and/or Ear Nose and Throat doctor and after the results of the hearing test are available they can give you options for Tinnitus management.

Tinnitus is very frequently the result of a high-frequency hearing loss. High blood pressure and diabetes are both risk factors for hearing loss. I would recommend you have a comprehensive hearing evaluation by an audiologist as your first step. Hearing aids are often very beneficial for persons with tinnitus.
