• Was it a heart attack or a stroke?

I have a history of heart problems but today was very different from anything I have had in the past. I stood up and the room went dark and my head felt like it would explode and my chest felt like it had a band around it but no pain. I used my Nitro and tried to take my blood pressure but the monitor just kept reading err and after about 5 minutes everything went back to normal, including my blood pressure monitor which now works fine.

You could be having something called Orthostatic Hypotension. We would be happy to assess you in the office.

It sounds like a transient heart arrhythmia (not a heart attack or stroke). It could be ventricular tachycardia which is quite serious, so you should get your heart checked.
