This is a very broad topic and the treatment depends heavily on the type of IBS you have. In general, anti-diarrheals and laxatives are mainstay treatments, along with anti-spasmotics. Multiple OTC and prescription medications are available. The approach to treatment should be discussed with your care-giver, recognizing that there are a wide variety of opinions on how to do this.
