I've had infertility issues since I've been 19 years old. I've been pregnant a total of 9 times and went through 7 losses. 6 of 7 of the losses all happened before 10 weeks. The one lost happened when I was almost 5 months pregnant. My 2 year old son was born in 2019 when I was 31 after 12 years of trying and I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension when I was 24 weeks pregnant and ended up having to be induced then after suffering in labor for 3 I ended up having an emergency c-section. Moving along I just welcomed my 2nd son who is 3½ months. I developed severe pre-eclampsia at 33 weeks and 6 days. Rushed to a hospital with a NICU so I wouldn't be separated from my babu. I had him at exactly 34 weeks via emergency c-section. I was on the magnesium sulfate drip for almost 2 days. I need to know are there any long term damage that can be from the magnesium? I have never been right since receiving it 12 hours before my emergency c-section.
Magnesium sulfate is given to prevent contractions and delay early delivery, and to prevent seizures if you develop preeclampsia. After you deliver it should be stopped, unless you are at risk for eclampsia seizures. Overdoses with magnesium can lead to slowed breathing and muscle weakness, but, in general, there are no long term negative effects of magnesium.
there are lots f side effects for Xanax propanolol and celexa ! magnesium increases oxygen to the brain no side effects in those doses
This is a better question for the obstetrician-gynecologist.
