I get migraines too often. What are the potential causes of migraines?

1st of all we need to make sure that what you have is migraine, and not caused by other etiology/causes. I suggest that you check with your physician or neurologist.
There are some patients with migraine who have difficult to manage migraine, refractory, and they require specialized headache center to help them.
Migraine has hereditary component, for example if a family member has migraine, another family member is more likely to have migraine.
