Can be a benign flow murmur at this age. It can be due to a congenital defect. You should get an ECHO.
It can be the flow of blood in the normal heart aka a flow murmur or there may be something structural with the heart. If they are 8 and this is the first time it is heard, odds are it is probably normal, but it should be checked by an expert
