The virus that causes mononucleosis, Epstein-Barr virus, is known to cause some lymphoma and closely related viruses have also been implicated.
There are many different types of lymphomas, and besides a few rare ones that seem to be associated or caused partially by viruses, no good or definite causes are known to be causative.
