My daughter was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Is it serious? What could be the cause of pancreatitis in a child?

This question should be forwarded to a pediatrician.
This is best answered by a pediatric GI doc, rather than adult GI.
Also, need a lot more information such as age of the child, use of any medications, the BMI, whether there are any gallstones, etc.
