Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to your exam. You may be given a gown to wear during the scan. Metal objects including jewelry, eyeglasses, dentures and hairpins may affect the CT images and should be left at home or removed prior to your exam.

Avoid nasal wash at least 24 hours before a sinus CT scan. Remove any items from the head and neck area such as piercings, glasses, hearing aids, jewelry, hair items, removable metal from the month, etc. When ordered with IV contrast inform the Technologist if you are diabetic and on Glucophage, Metformin, or Glucovance or allergic to iodine. For IV contrast it is best to not eat or drink anything 4 hours prior to your scan.

Just wear comfortable clothing. Avoid any jewelry - piercings, necklaces etc as they can interfere with the scan and create scatter (impaired images). They will likely remind you of this at the time of your scan.
