• What does blood in urine 1+ mean?

I recently underwent a urine test for a urine infection that my doctor suspected. The report showed blood in urine 1+. What does this mean? Is it a sign of something serious? Please advice.

Hi,
Unless it’s during menstruation in a woman, 1+ blood in the urine is a lot. I recommend seeing a urologist for a cystoscope to look for bladder mass, kidney stones first. If that is negative, you will need a kidney biopsy

Means blood in urine. Kidney stones can cause this, Glomerulonephritis can cause this. In elderly smokers, bladder cancer should be ruled out
