Ankle replacement timeline, 2 weeks with no weight, 2-4 weeks walking in a boot, and a gradual progression from the boot o normal shoes at the 6 weeks after surgery. Everyone is different, but I tell patients to expect a 6-8 week recovery period.

Generally recovery time can be 3 - 6 months. It is a complicated surgery with appropriate rehabilitative therapy for several months.

Average recovery is 2-3 months after a total ankle replacement surgery. Post-surgica swelling will persist for up to 1 year after surgery. These are estimate for a patient who does not experience any complications after surgery

Ankle replacement surgery is still evolving. Recovery will depend on the total work performed and healing of of the incisions. I recommend you discuss the particulars with a foot and ankle surgeon who does ankle replacements
