I'm 61 years old Native American woman. I'm also homeless. My toes on both sides are numb and a part of my elbow is on the left side. I get dizzy out of nowhere. Now my back is starting to hurt really bad. I'm taken all these meds (Novolog/Levemir/Gabapent/Celecoxib/Albuterol/Alogliptin/Aspirin/Lisinopril/Rosuvastatin/Carboxmethyllcellulsoe Sodium). I try to roll a bottle under my feet. But it's so cold. Someone stole my bag with all my meds in it. We live in our car that broke down.
Hi and Im sorry for your situation. Could you tell me what area you are in? There may be some resources I can find to help. The most important thing is to find a stable place to live so you can take your medications regularly. It sounds like you have neuropathy, but if someone steals your meds that will just worsen if your diabetes is not under control. You also need to make sure you are eating a well balanced diet and checking your blood sugars. Are you able to go to a clinic regularly? Is someone with you? If you can give me more info I will try to find some resources. Vanessa

Which state are you in?
Most states have programs to help.
You need to see a doctor to investigate why you have neuropathy and make sure you don’t have a circulation problem as well.
You're describing a typical Diabetic Neuropathy.
It's difficult to pinpoint exactly what is going on with you and all the medical issues you have. It sounds like you have neuropathy among the many medical issues. I'm sorry about all of your mishaps and hope you soon find solutions to your living situation. I suggest you contact your primary and a social worker so that you may get the medical and welfare services you need.

Some of your numbness sensations may be due to problems related to your diabetes condition. Often, nerves can be affected that cause numbness or tingling or what we call "neuropathy." Having good control of your diabetes as well as blood pressure, cholesterol, and protecting your kidney function are important for you. Most importantly, your finding more permanent shelter and safe housing is the best medicine to find.
Hope this is helpful.
