Any CT can be used to perform a body scan which takes a few minutes. There isn’t a specific CT scan that is used to detect cancer. However, most insurances do not cover CT whole body screening so the patient must pay for the exam out of pocket.

The only cancer screening performed via CT that is currently routine is for lung cancer in higher risk patients.
