Why is the catheter causing infection for my dad?
My father was admitted in the hospital and a catheter has been inserted for him to pass urine. However, he just suffered from his 3rd infection since it was inserted. Why is this happening?

Any foreign body can increase the risk of infection. There could be many additional factors contributing to recurrent infections. Please reach out to your father's physician with your concerns and discuss further a management plan.
