• Why does my new crown hurt when I chew?

I got a crown 2 days ago. It hurts when I chew. Should I see a doctor?

Crowns for a few days may feel slight discomfort which usually goes away. But if it persists please see your doctor so it can be assessed for need for root canal, high points etc

If the pain does not go away in a few days yes return to you dentist for evaluation. Dr Kristi

Yes! Go back to your dentist. It may need to be adjusted. It shouldn’t hurt when chewing.

Couple reasons.
The bite might be off... It needs to be adjusted.
The tooth "could" need a root canal.
Either way, get it look at. It won't just "go away" on it's own.
