Why won't my bruise go away?
I had hernia surgery done 4 months ago. It was right after surgery my penis and testicles turned black. Most of the bruising went away within a month. However, one side (same side as the surgery) of my scrotum is still black. Parts of my penis are also still discolored (black). Is this normal? Will it go away? Should I be concerned? Why will it not go back to normal?

Bruising can occasionally lead to permanent changes in skin color. It may not return to normal if it has already been 4 months since your surgery. Typically, the color change is of little to no consequence, but I would discuss with your surgeon.
You may be on blood thinners. It may take awhile to reabsorb.
You should see your surgeon or go to the emergency room! This may suggest that the tissue no longer has good circulation and is dying.
