• Will Lexotan affect my eyesight?

Hello! I was prescribed with Lexotan (1.5 mg). My mother has a glaucoma and I wasn't screened yet for it. Now, I'm experiencing slight blurry vision when looking at things at a distance. Will Lexotan affect my eyesight?

It would be very unlikely for Lexotan to have an effect on glaucoma. The medication can cause some drowsiness and so if your eyes need to work harder to focus at distance this could be an effect. Another cause of blurred vision could be some ocular dryness. If your symptoms are mild you could see how things go over 1-2 weeks and if not better certainly have an eye exam.

Benzodiazepines, such as Lexotan, can be associated with visual blurring. They can also be associated with an increased risk of Acute Angle Glaucoma. I would suggest a complete exam by your Ophthalmologist, preferably your Mother=E2=80=99s Ophthalmologist, so that your visual blurring and eye pressures can be further evaluated.
