A dry socket is an infected socket and likely infected bone. Usually a dry socket is treated with cleaning it out and the use of antibiotics.

It would take longer to go away, it’s better if you get treatment from the dental office

Probably. However it can be very painful and quickly treated by the dentist!

In most cases you will need to return to the doctor who did the extraction to treat the dry socket.

It would eventually heal after an extended extremely painful healing period. The surgeon can place some medication that should provide almost immediate relief.
